On Feb. 18, 2021, NASA's Mars Perseverance rover makes its final descent to the Red Planet. Today is the day not only engineers at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory is holding their breathe, but so does the whole world to see this terrifying and impressive in equal measures of event.
Our Host, Catherine & James has put up an event for everyone to watch together in their crafted world, filled with rockets , NASA's history, Virtual Food stalls and the national pride flag! 🇺🇸They broadcast the live link to the big screen in Altspace.
The world has a huge green field in the middle of it, with a cozy firewoods and fireworks that people can play with. Under the starry blue sky, the world is made beautifully with interactive object, like that rocket.. It moves every now and then towards the dark sky above. This boost up the mood of people during the countdown. 🚀
So many people are just holding their breathe to see this historic event takes place. There are almost about 150 people all together, being scattered into 2 different rooms for this event. As we watched the countdown, series of people are talking about what they feel NASA would find in Mars.
When we finally got a confirmation that it has landed safely, everyone and literally everyone are giving out a lot love and clap emojis from their avatar showing how pleased and prideful they are about this.
In the image, is the first picture taken by the rover's engineering cameras, moments after it successfully touched down in the Red Planet's Jezero Crater.
This is just one of those moment of glory that everyone can relate with, it is beautiful to see how we are able to do this with so many people from different part of the world together in this space.
Now, after it has arrive at the red planet after executing an extremely challenging landing maneuver, it will now begin its search for signs of ancient life.
We can't wait to see what's next ! A big thank you to our world builders and host for this amazing heartwarming event!!
